Rodriguez: College football trending toward pro model

West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez has learned to adapt in the changing college landscape. One of those would be the introduction of one transfer portal window in the winter which would allow coaches to have a firm grasp on their rosters much like the NFL free agency model. The head coach has spoken to friends of his at the NFL level both general managers and coaches because of the evolving nature of roster construction in college football.

Riza confident Bluebirds will avoid Championship relegation

Cardiff City boss Omer Riza says he firmly believe the club can avoid relegation from the Championship. Under Riza, Cardiff’s points-per-game tally would put them 14th in the Championship, but after a record-bad start under previous boss Erol Bulut, the Bluebirds are one point and one place outside of the drop zone. Riza faced severe scrutiny before a 2-1 win over Blackburn just before the international break, but the Bluebirds boss says he is sure his side will survive their relegation battle ahead of Saturday’s visit from play-off chasing Sheffield Wednesday.

Docherty on Cameron injury doubt, ‘different’ Rangers test & ‘consistency’

Dundee manager Tony Docherty has been speaking to the media before his side’s match with Rangers on Saturday evening. Lyall Cameron, who is Rangers bound this summer, is a “slight injury concern” and is “awaiting scan results” before being assessed further. On Cameron’s absence Docherty says it is “always a blow when your best players are not available” but “players are ready to take the opportunity” if the midfielder is ruled out.
